La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday evening been dealt a concerning setback on the personnel front. This comes after Federico Valverde was forced out of the club’s showdown with Barcelona.
Los Blancos are of course currently locked in action at the Spotify Camp Nou, in the new season’s first edition of El Clásico.
The aforementioned Valverde featured from the off in the matchup, again favoured to both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Denzel Dumfries at right-back for the visitors.
During the first-half, however, the Uruguayan appeared to pick up a fitness problem, after making a challenge in the middle of the park.
Valverde from here carried on, but all the while appeared to be moving gingerly. It therefore came as little surprise when Real Madrid’s captain ultimately succumbed to his complaint just beyond the hour mark.
Valverde was replaced by Denzel Dumfries, ahead of undergoing a round of medical scans back in Spain’s capital over the days ahead.
