Supporters of Real Madrid have flooded to social media on Sunday evening, to sing the praises of a member of the club’s midfield ranks.
The Blancos star in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Real Madrid are of course currently locked in action, in arguably the club’s most important fixture of the season to date. José Mourinho’s troops have made the trip to Catalunya’s capital to face Barcelona, in the knowledge that defeat is simply not an option against Hansi Flick’s La Liga table-toppers.
As things stand, the visitors boast the advantage, owing to a fortunate first-half goal on the part of star frontman Kylian Mbappé.
Amid a string of strong performances on the part of those in white, none, though, have stood up to the test of a rampant Barca outfit in more impressive fashion than the aforementioned Aurélien Tchouaméni.
From his berth at the base of midfield, the Frenchman has been in superb form, reading the game brilliantly, and producing a whole host of well-timed challenges to break up the hosts’ attacks.
So impressive has Tchouaméni looked, in fact, that even the so often critical Real Madrid faithful have been quick to give the former AS Monaco man his flowers:
