Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has admitted that he is yet to inform attacking star Yan Diomandé of whether or not he will be afforded a starting berth in the club’s upcoming meeting with RB Leipzig.
Winger Diomandé is of course fresh off his latest impressive showing in Blancos colours this past weekend. En route to a 4-1 La Liga victory over Sevilla, the Ivorian chipped in with both a brilliant goal and an assist.
After a slow start to life in Spain’s capital following his summer arrival, Diomandé has spent recent weeks showcasing precisely why Florentino Pérez and co. pushed so hard for his signature.
Speaking to the media in his latest pre-match press conference on Tuesday, José Mourinho was therefore drawn on the possibility of his young attacker featuring from the off once again, against his former employers in the Champions League on Wednesday.
And Real Madrid’s headmaster kept his cards close to his chest with his response, explaining:
“Yan Diomandé’s role tomorrow? He doesn’t know if he will play or not. The only thing I can say for tomorrow is that Vini will start on the left wing.”
