Large groups of Barcelona supporters came together on Tuesday evening, to belt out chants of the name of none other than Sergi Roberto.
This of course comes owing to the Spaniard’s past exploits against Barca’s latest opponents on the continent.
Hansi Flick’s troops are currently locked in action in France’s capital of Paris, in a highly anticipated Champions League showdown with reigning tournament holders PSG.
The two clubs have contested a whole host of brilliant one-off games and ties alike down through the years, including a 10-goal quarter-final affair during the 2023/24 campaign.
None, though, are as memorable as that of the 2nd-leg in the Last-16 clash between Barcelona and PSG 10 years ago, when the former mounted perhaps their most famous ‘Remontada’ ever.
After battling their way to a 5-1 advantage in the return leg following a 4-0 drubbing in France, the Blaugrana had the aforementioned Sergi Roberto to thank for what proved to be the tie’s decisive goal a full five minutes into injury time.
On the streets of Paris ahead of kick-off on Tuesday evening, Barcelona’s fans therefore paid tribute to their former midfielder, courtesy of chants of ‘Sergi Roberto! Sergi Roberto!:
