Real Madrid star could be left at home for the World Cup

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is in real danger of being left out of his country’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.

The player in question? Eduardo Camavinga.

Midfielder Camavinga has for his part long been a central figure in Didier Deschamps’ France setup, generally considered something of a shoo-in for Les Bleus’ call-ups.

Across the season to date, however, the 23-year-old has come in for frequent criticism for the level of his performances.

Camavinga has struggled badly for form and fitness alike, and recently cost Real Madrid dear en route to being sent packing from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich.

And such woes, it would appear, have not gone at all unnoticed in his home country…

As per a report from French outlet Telefoot, as cited by Diario AS:

‘Camavinga has a strong chance of being left out of France’s World Cup squad after a very inconsistent season with Real Madrid and a disappointing performance during the last international break in March.’
