Barcelona boss Flick reveals if he will watch Real Madrid’s clash with Espanyol

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has no intention of watching on as arch rivals Real Madrid lock horns with Espanyol later this evening.

This of course comes fresh off the German’s Blaugrana placing one hand on the La Liga trophy on Saturday.

Barca were back in action 24 hours ago, making the trip to El Sadar for a league meeting with Osasuna.

When all was said and done, the Catalans emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, courtesy of goals on the part of Robert Lewandowski, and Ferran Torres.

This means that the reigning champions have opened up a hefty 14-point advantage atop the Spanish top-flight table.

With just four gameweeks remaining after this, anything other than a Real Madrid victory over Espanyol on Sunday would in turn see Barcelona officially retain their La Liga title.

Speaking in the aftermath of his side’s victory over Osasuna, Hansi Flick was therefore asked if he intends to watch on as the action at the RCDE Stadium unfolds.

The former Bayern Munich headmaster, however, did not hesitate in assuring:

“I will not be watching Real Madrid, that’s for sure! That’s not for me. If anything happens, they’ll let me know in our WhatsApp group!”
