Real Madrid star beats Arda Güler & more to Man of the Match prize vs RB Leipzig

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé did enough to beat out the stiff competition to secure the Man of the Match award in the club’s latest outing on Wednesday.

José Mourinho’s troops were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming German outfit RB Leipzig to Spain’s capital for a Champions League clash.

When all was said and done, Los Blancos emerged on the right side of a 4-1 result, to keep alive what has been a flawless continental campaign to date.

Over the course of the 90 minutes, a whole host of Real’s stars shone bright, with Arda Güler and Yan Diomandé having notched a goal and an assist each.

As alluded to above, though, it was Kylian Mbappé who was ultimately named the game’s standout performer following the full-time whistle at the Santiago Bernabéu.

After laying on an assist for Arda early in the 2nd-half, the Frenchman then turned goalscorer himself late on, directing a wonderful effort into the top corner of the Leipzig net from the edge of the penalty area.

Post-match, Mbappé, in turn, was handed the ‘Player of the Match’ trophy:
