Real Madrid send scouts to watch Leeds United star

La Liga giants Real Madrid had scouts in attendance to keep an eye on a highly-regarded young member of the midfield ranks at Leeds United on Monday night.

The player in question? Archie Gray.

Gray, for his part, is an 18-year-old England youth international, who has long been regarded as one of the most gifted talents in The Championship.

Naturally a central midfielder, the youngster’s host of impressive traits mean that he is also capable of lining out in defence, a role in which he has excelled this season.

Despite his tender years, Gray, for his part, has featured in all but two of Leeds’ league outings in 2023/24, playing a pivotal role in Daniel Farke’s troops climbing all the way to 2nd in the table.

He has chipped in with a goal and two assists along the way, too.

And such stellar exploits, it would appear, have proven enough to pique the attentions of two of Europe’s biggest clubs.

As per a report from Graeme Bailey of HITC Sports in England, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich both had scouts in attendance on Monday night, as Leeds put Hull City to the sword by three goals to one.

As much came chiefly to keep an eye on Gray, a player whom the two continental giants are ‘long-term’ admirers of.

The brass at Elland Road, for their part, are adamant that their crown jewel will be going nowhere any time soon, though.
