Barcelona talent Fort’s bargain release clause confirmed

Confirmation of the bargain release clause included in the contract of Barcelona youngster Héctor Fort has been forthcoming this evening.

As much comes amid speculation surrounding the defender’s future in Catalunya across the day to date.

As revealed by Cat Radio, both Fort and teammate Jules Koundé have made their way onto the radar of French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain.

A meeting between Barca and their PSG counterparts is understood to have taken place last month, during which the names of defensive pair Fort and Koundé found themselves front and centre.

Deco and co, it is understood, made clear that though they are open to negotiations regarding the latter, starlet Fort, for his part, will be going nowhere any time soon.

If ensuing word stemming from the media late on Tuesday is anything to go by, though, it should in truth come as little surprise to hear of PSG sniffing around the signature of the 17-year-old.

This comes with the Spanish youth international, who has showcased flashes of brilliance across limited minutes with Barcelona’s first-team this season, tied down to a contract featuring a cut-price clause.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Fort’s terms at the Camp Nou mean that clubs interested in his signature would be required to fork over just €6 million to sign him.

As much, however, would also be dependent on the stopper himself opening to a move, a change of heart which looks altogether unlikely at present.

In fact, should Barca have their way, Fort will soon put pen to paper on a new long-term contract with the club.
