Real Madrid respond to Reims interest in Davide Ancelotti

An insight into the stance of the powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid when it comes to the potential departure of Davide Ancelotti has today been forthcoming.

The info comes courtesy of The Athletic, and points towards Los Blancos having little intention of sanctioning an exit for the Italian.

For those who may have missed it, the name of Ancelotti, son of and assistant to Real Madrid boss Carlo, has taken its place front and centre in the French media headlines across the day to date.

This comes after word was forthcoming that Stade de Reims have identified the 34-year-old as their leading managerial target with a view to next season.

Les rouges et blancs are on the lookout for fresh blood in the dugout, following the sudden recent exit of Will Still.

And Davide Ancelotti, who has long been building for himself a reputation as something of a mastermind behind the scenes in Madrid, has emerged at the very top of Reims’ list.

The Ligue 1 outfit, it is understood, have pencilled in talks with Real’s assistant and his entourage following the upcoming Champions League final.

As much comes with a view to offering Ancelotti a long-term contract.

As per The Athletic’s Blancos correspondent Mario Cortegana, however, the Reims hierarchy will have a tough time of things in attempting to convince their counterparts at the Santiago Bernabéu to sanction a deal:

‘Madrid have no interest in allowing Ancelotti to leave the club and view him as a valuable member of their first-team coaching unit,’ it is concluded.
