Real Madrid pair included in Morocco squad

The Moroccan Football Federation have this evening unveiled the country’s latest national team squad.

And two members of the playing setup at La Liga giants Real Madrid have been afforded first-time call-ups by Walid Regragui.

As expected, front and centre in the Morocco ranks is Brahim Díaz.

Midfielder Brahim last week announced his decision to switch international allegiances, from Spain, to Morocco – for whom he is eligible through his paternal grandmother.

And boss Regragui has wasted little time in taking advantage of the latest talent at his disposal.

As alluded to above, though, Brahim is not the only player currently plying his trade on the books of Real Madrid to have been afforded a spot in the Atlas Lions’ squad to take on Angola and Mauritania.

So too has youngster Youssef Lekhedim, better known in Spain as Yusi.

Yusi is a highly-regarded 18-year-old defender, who generally operates as a left-back.

He is currently plying his trade with Real’s U19s, notching a pair of assists in eight appearances in the UEFA Youth League across the season to date.
