The powers that be at Real Madrid have initiated contact with Roberto De Zerbi, over the possibility of replacing Carlo Ancelotti in the dugout, according to reports.
The subject of the managerial hotseat at Real has of course taken its place front and centre in the Spanish football headlines for some time now.
This comes with current boss Carlo Ancelotti widely expected to depart upon the conclusion of the campaign, to take up the reins of the Brazilian national team.
Florentino Pérez and co, as a result, have been left with the tough task of replacing the iconic Italian.
To this point, a whole host of tacticians have been tipped for the post, from Xabi Alonso to Julian Nagelsmann to Antonio Conte.
And, as alluded to above, yet another name has now been added to the watchlist of the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu.
As per a report from Sport, Los Blancos have touched base with Brighton & Hove Albion headmaster Roberto De Zerbi, to gauge his interest in a summer move to the club.
De Zerbi is understood to be viewed as a viable candidate owing to both his attacking brand of football, and ability to nurture young talents, of which Real boast an absolute abundance.
It now remains to be seen whether the Italian himself feels ready for such a major step up in his career.
