Real Madrid look set to beat out the stiff competition to the signature of departing Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.
This comes amid confirmation that Bernardo Silva is in advanced talks to take his talents to the Santiago Bernabéu over the coming weeks.
Midfielder Bernardo has of course taken his place centre stage in the headlines in Spain for several months now.
After confirmation was forthcoming that the Portuguese international had made the call to depart Man City as a free agent, both Barcelona and Atlético Madrid were quickly linked with his signature.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest update on the situation to have surfaced on Thursday is anything to go by, then Bernardo in fact appears closest to a move to La Liga’s other leading club.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Real Madrid sent official proposal to Bernardo Silva, advanced talks to try sign the midfielder. Deal underway with Mourinho pushing and Real confident to anticipate Barça & Atlético.’
