Real Madrid handed massive boost as Thibaut Courtois tipped for Champions League return

A major update on the fitness of Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has come to the fore late on Monday night.

This comes in the form of confirmation that the shot-stopper is some way ahead of schedule in his recovery from injury.

Belgian international Courtois has of course missed the entirety of the campaign to date, after suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament tear in his left knee whilst in pre-season training.

Upon the news being announced back in August, the widespread assumption was that the former Chelsea man, in turn, would sit out the entirety of the 2023/24 term.

If the latest word stemming from the media this evening is anything to go by, however, then this, in fact, may not prove to be the case.

As per a report from Cope, ‘all going well’, Courtois should be available to feature in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in April, should Real Madrid advance beyond the competition’s round of 16.

This comes with the 31-year-old already back doing ball work in training, joining fellow Blancos ACL absentee Éder Militão in looking well ahead of schedule in his comeback endeavours.
