La Liga giants Real Madrid have afforded a glimmer of hope to Premier League champions Arsenal amid their ongoing pursuit of Blancos star Vinícius Jr.
This comes amid confirmation that the board in Spain’s capital have no intention of improving their contract offer to the attacker.
Wide-man Vinícius’ current Real Madrid terms are due to expire in the summer of 2027. The two parties have sat down for negotiations over an extension on multiple occasions, but each time, have failed to reach a final agreement.
The player is understood to be seeking an increase to his already massive salary. Florentino Pérez and co, however, are of the opinion that the proposal currently on the table is more than sufficient.
For this reason, Arsenal, named as surprise summer suitors for Vinícius over the last couple of weeks, maintain hope of pulling off a groundbreaking deal for the 26-year-old.
As per a report from ESPN:
‘Real Madrid do not intend to increase the offer they have already made to Vini and his team for the renewal and believe it is up to the Brazilian to decide whether he accepts the terms.’
Should the explosive winger decide once and for all that the offer at hand is insufficient, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, in turn, will pounce.
