Real Madrid €120m signing is ‘practically a done deal’

La Liga giants Real Madrid are on the verge of closing a deal for a big-money addition to the club’s attacking ranks.

The player all set to take his talents to Spain’s capital for the 2026/27 campaign? RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomandé.

Winger Diomandé has of course dominated the headlines across Spain and beyond over the last couple of days. After word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Real Madrid had joined the hunt for the in-demand Ivorian, Los Blancos quickly overtook the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal in the Diomandé sweepstakes.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Sunday is anything to go by, then the capital heavyweights now appear to be firmly ahead of chief competitors Paris Saint-Germain, too.

As per a report from Real Madrid insider José Félix Díaz, writing for Diario AS:

‘At Valdebebas, one of the top signings of the summer is practically a done deal. Minor issues and the exchange of documents that don’t affect the heart of the matter, which is an agreement between Real Madrid and the German club for around €115-120 million.’

The transfer, it is added, could be made official as early as Monday, a development which would ensure that Diomandé need not report for pre-season training with RB Leipzig.
