Real Madrid consider Premier League move

Mundo Deportivo report that Real Madrid have been evaluating a potential move to the Premier League.

According to the Catalan outlet, Real Madrid’s constant conflict with La Liga president Javier Tebas has led Madrid president Florentino Pérez to consider the option, with the English Premier League his preferred choice.

Tebas’ opposition to the European Super League and La Liga’s recent deal with the CVC Capital Partners has proved “the last straw” for Pérez, who was heading up the Super League project.

La Liga’s €2.1 billion agreement with CVC Partners sees the investment firm take 10% of the league’s TV revenue, and was passed by a vote of 38-4, despite opposition from the Spanish FA, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

In a tweet posted in response to Mundo Deportivo’s report, Javier Tebas wrote: “What a load of nonsense we’re hearing at the moment.”
