Real Madrid boss Ancelotti provides Jude Bellingham update before Cádiz & Bayern

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield standout Jude Bellingham.

As much comes fresh off something of a difficult week for the England international.

Bellingham, for his part, sat out Real Madrid’s most recent La Liga outing against Real Sociedad, after being struck down by a bout of gastroenteritis.

The 20-year-old then saw his display in Los Blancos’ ensuing Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich called into question, too, after Bellingham allowed the game to largely pass him by.

Speaking on the back of the full-time whistle at the Allianz Arena, Carlo Ancelotti was adamant that the summer arrival in Spain’s capital was still suffering from the after effects of his recent illness.

During his latest pre-match press conference this weekend, Real’s headmaster, in turn, was asked for the latest word on Bellingham’s wellbeing.

And Ancelotti went on to confirm that the former Borussia Dortmund standout, in a boost to all associated with the club, is now doing much better:

“Jude Bellingham had a stomach bug before La Real game, he didn’t fully recover. He is fine now and will play well as he has all season.”

Real Madrid will turn attentions back towards matters in La Liga on Saturday, when they play host to relegation-battling Cádiz, before welcoming the aforementioned Bayern Munich to the Bernabéu on Wednesday, with a place in the Champions League finale on the line.
