Barcelona plan to afford pair of youngsters new jersey numbers next season

An insight into the plans of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona to reward two of the club’s latest breakthrough talents has this weekend been provided.

The pair in question? Lamine Yamal, and Pau Cubarsí.

Both winger Lamine, and defender Cubarsí, have of course positioned themselves front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of recent months.

As much comes with the two La Masia graduates, despite being just 16 and 17 respectively, having exploded onto the first-team scene under the watch of Xavi.

Already acting as integral members of Barcelona’s first-choice XI, the pair look set to define an era at the Camp Nou, for the coming decade and beyond.

And as much, evidently, has not been at all lost on those behind the scenes at Barca.

As per a report from Diario Sport, the ever-increasing prominence of Lamine and Cubarsí should see both rewarded with a view to next season.

‘The idea that the club has for both is that they will be registered for the first-team starting next season, in addition to a corresponding jersey number.’

This operation will be dependent on Barcelona’s success in getting their financial affairs in order, but hopes are high that, when all is said and done, Deco and co. will get the job done.
