Real Madrid approach Mauricio Pochettino to succeed Zinedine Zidane

Real Madrid have made contact with PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino and he is now the club’s number one target to succeed Zinedine Zidane, according to Rubén Uría of Goal.

Pochettino is the most popular option at the Bernabéu to succeed Zidane. The Argentine, who has always been a coach that president Florentino Pérez has admired, still has a contract with PSG, so he would have to leave the Parisian club.

The former Tottenham boss could welcome an offer from Real Madrid and be delighted to fulfil his dream of coaching what he considers to be the best team in the history of football. The big stumbling block is that he still has a year left on his contract and that his future is in the hands of PSG.

Antonio Conte and club legend Raúl have also been linked with the managerial vacancy since Zidane made the decision to step down from the role.
