Real Madrid actively scouting Serie A midfielder

The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the development of a member of the midfield ranks at Serie A outfit AS Roma. This comes amid the understanding that Los Blancos have earmarked Manu Koné as a potential signing for the future.

Koné, for his part, is a 25-year-old midfielder, who chiefly operates in a deep-lying role. The 25-year-old has long emerged as one of the standout engine room performers in Italian football, hailed for his qualities on both sides of the ball.

Such exploits gave rise to a call-up to France’s squad for this summer’s World Cup, during which Koné continued to build on his glowing reputation.

And as alluded to above, amid his ongoing rise, Koné is now understood to have piqued the attentions of those in the boardroom at on of European football’s leading clubs. As per a report from Diario AS:

‘Manu Koné is on Real Madrid’s radar. The club has been closely monitoring the French international’s performances for some time, even watching him play live in various matches, and he is a promising option for the midfield in the future.’

Florentino Pérez and co. have ruled out any potential move for Koné over the final days of the summer window, but could begin weighing up an offer for his signature as early as next January.
