The brass at La Liga outfit Real Betis this week kickstarted a round of transfer negotiations with their counterparts at German giants Borussia Dortmund.
This comes amid the understanding that the former have set their sights on the signature of BVB frontman Fábio Silva.
Frontman Silva has for his part been linked with yet another transfer this summer. After something of an underwhelming debut campaign on the books of the aforementioned Dortmund, the Portuguese is understood to have been added to the wishlists of a whole host of clubs across Europe.
One such suitor, as alluded to above, come from Spain, in the form of Real Betis. Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements up top, the Betis hierarchy are reported to have earmarked the 24-year-old as a viable target.
Silva has prior experience of La Liga football, and impressed to the tune of 10 goals in 24 appearances during a loan stint with Las Palmas back in the 2024/25 campaign.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, in turn:
‘Emissaries from Real Betis, including the technical secretary, Álvaro Ladrón de Guevara, travelled earlier this week to try to make progress in the signing of Portuguese striker Fabio Silva, one of the candidates to reinforce the Betis team’s forward line.’
It now remains to be seen if the Verdiblancos are willing to meet the demands laid out by their counterparts at Signal Iduna Park.
