Real Betis in advanced talks with Real Sociedad for Willian José

Real Betis and Real Sociedad are finalising the details for the signing of Willian José on loan until the end of the 2021/22 season, according to ABC Sevilla.

Betis will keep an option to buy the striker, who is valued at less than €10 million. The Andalusian club will send Loren Morón on loan to Espanyol, according to the report.

The deal is well advanced and the parties, who are on good terms, hope that it can be completed in the next few hours, even for Willian José to be available to make his debut in Saturday’s clash against Real Madrid at the Benito Villamarín.

The striker will compete with Borja Iglesias for the number nine position. The Brazilian was on the verge of signing for Betis in the summer of 2016 but eventually left for Real Sociedad.

Willian José is 29 years old and has extensive experience in LaLiga, where he has played 174 games and scored 61 goals. He played for Real Zaragoza and Las Palmas before Real Sociedad and last year had a spell at Premier League side Wolves, scoring just one goal in 18 appearances.
