A member of the defensive ranks at Girona has positioned himself front and centre on the transfer wishlist of La Liga outfit Real Betis this summer.
This comes amid the understanding that the latter are giving real consideration to tabling an offer for Arnau Martínez.
Arnau, for his part, is fresh off a solid individual campaign on the books of the aforementioned Girona. Despite the collective struggles of the Catalans en route to relegation, the versatile full-back continued to showcase his talents at both ends.
Across 35 La Liga appearances all told, Arnau racked up two goals and three assists.
His efforts are understood to have piqued the attentions of a whole host of Spanish clubs, with the widespread expectation being that Arnau will be on the move before the summer is out.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, the identity of one of the 23-year-old’s chief suitors has been revealed.
The info comes courtesy of market insider Matteo Moretto of Marca, who has confirmed:
‘Real Betis are interested in Arnau Martínez. It’s a real option, but, as of today, there are still no advanced negotiations underway. The player has given priority to Betis.’
