Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has prior experience overseeing the efforts of the club’s newest high-profile signing.
This comes owing to the tactician’s time spent on the bench with the German national team.
Barcelona are of course fresh off tying up a deal for a new addition to the club’s attacking ranks. After a quick-fire round of negotiations with Borussia Dortmund, the Camp Nou brass agreed to fork over close to €30 million (including bonuses) to bring in Karim Adeyemi.
An official announcement regarding the transfer is expected early next week.
Adeyemi’s signing is understood to have come at the direct request of the aforementioned Hansi Flick. The 61-year-old is eager to build a frontline in Catalunya’s capital boasting explosive collective pace, capable of blitzing opposing backlines in transition at any moment.
And Flick has long been well aware of Adeyemi’s perfect fit in such a system.
The tactician was responsible for calling the 24-year-old up on several occasions between 2021 and 2023 during his time as German national team headmaster, and was evidently impressed by what he saw…
