RB Leipzig star Castello Lukeba would be ready to give the green light to a move to Spain with Barcelona as soon as the January transfer window.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have this week provided an insight into the situation.
Stopper Lukeba was for his part heavily linked with a potential move to Catalunya’s capital throughout the summer. As the Camp Nou brass scoured the market for reinforcements at the heart of defence, the 23-year-old is understood to have been earmarked as a leading target.
In the end, a swoop for Lukeba was not forthcoming, as Deco and co. stuck with the central-defensive options currently at the disposal of Hansi Flick.
As alluded to above, though, the Frenchman himself appears to remain very much keen on a Blaugrana switch. As per a report from Sport:
‘The Leipzig centre-back would be willing to give the okay to Barça if the Blaugrana club go for him in this January market or next June.’
A Barcelona swoop for fresh blood at centre-back this winter has not been ruled out, with the so often-injured Andreas Christensen having already been condemned to a fresh spell on the sidelines.
