Chatter surrounding the future of a young member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Tuesday begun to mount.
This comes amid fresh claims that he has been asked to stay put, by Castilla head coach Raúl.
The player in question? Reinier Jesus.
Fresh off another largely underwhelming loan stint away from Spain’s capital last season, attacking midfielder Reinier – once considered one of the standout talents in his home country of Brazil – has not done enough to earn himself a place in the plans of Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.
He has in turn spent pre-season plying his trade with the Blancos’ reserve outfit.
And Reinier, evidently, has done enough to impress club legend and Castilla headmaster Raúl.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Raul has asked him to stay at Castilla, who play in the third tier of Spanish football.’
The expectation, however, is that upon the summer transfer window coming to a close later this week, Reinier will be lining out in the colours of yet another new club.
The 22-year-old is attracting interest from a whole host of sides ahead of the deadline, including two from the English Championship, two from the Spanish 2nd tier, and one from his home country of Brazil.
