Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has this week revealed his lighthearted take on the best approach to keeping Barcelona star Lamine Yamal under control on the pitch.
PSG and Barca are of course primed to lock horns on the continent for the latest occasion on Tuesday night.
In the headline fixture of the round in the Champions League, the reigning tournament holders will welcome Hansi Flick’s rampant Blaugrana to the Parc des Princes with the football world watching on.
The aforementioned Lamine is expected to play a leading role for the visitors, fresh off another spectacular individual performance against Real Betis over the weekend.
With star left-back Nuno Mendes ruled out through injury, PSG will in turn have their hands full in attempting to minimise the 19-year-old’s impact on proceedings.
Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference, Luis Enrique was therefore asked directly how he intends to approach defending Lamine. And the former Barcelona headmaster went on to explain:
“You must have the ball. If we have the ball, Lamine doesn’t have the ball!”
