Real Madrid lifted the 2022 UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 with a dominant display.

Thibaut Courtois: 8 – Called upon early in the first half, providing a fine save to deny Daichi Kamada. A comfortable night after that.

Dani Carvajal: 6 – A consistent outlet on the right, in tandem with Valverde and Modric.

Éder Militão: 8.5 – Top-notch display from the Brazilian. Anticipated every danger with poise, the highlight being a crucial block in the first half.

David Alaba: 7 – Scored the game’s opener in the 37th minute, latching on to a Casemiro header.

Ferland Mendy: 6.5 – A typically assured defensive display but could’ve been more refined in offense.

Casemiro: 8.5 – Assisted Alaba’s opener with a headed lay-off in the first half. Superb defensively, with a team-high of nine tackles.

Luka Modrić: 7 – Linked up well with Kroos, Casemiro and Valverde to keep the midfield ticking.

Toni Kroos: 9 – Phenomenal in the first half, dictating the tempo and being proactive in defence.

Fede Valverde: 9 – A force of nature. Created several openings on the right flank, and was on top of things defensively as well.

Karim Benzema: 9 – Exceptional in link-up with the midfield and wings. Wrapped up the game with Madrid’s second in the 65th minute, to move past Raúl in the Real Madrid all-time scoring chart.

Vinícius Jr.: 8.5 – Excellent in tandem with Benzema, his bursts of pace a thorn to the Frankfurt right flank the entire evening. Capped off with an assist to Benzema.
