A former member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid was reunited with his one-time teammates in the Spanish capital over the weekend.
The player in question? Joselu.
Frontman Joselu is for his part of course fresh off a season to remember on the books of Real Madrid.
Signed on loan from Espanyol as something of an emergency backup option, the 34-year-old went on to play a surprisingly prominent role in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, notching 17 goals across 49 appearances in all competitions.
Such production proved crucial in Real’s romp to a domestic and continental double, with Joselu in the process having secured for himself the title of something of a cult hero.
The experienced attacker nevertheless came to the decision to move on during the summer, making use of the chance for one last major payday in Qatar.
But evidently, he still represents a beloved figure in the dressing room at the Santiago Bernabéu.
As much is evidenced below, with Joselu’s attendance at Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Real Betis over the weekend having sparked widespread smiles and excitement in the ranks of the Spanish champions.
