Barcelona star Héctor Fort on Saturday all but confirmed his imminent departure from Catalunya’s capital. This comes after the defender was spotted in the crowd at the La Liga meeting between Real Sociedad and Espanyol.

Youngster Fort has for his part long been inching towards the exit door at the Spotify Camp Nou. Informed that he would not be depended upon by Barca boss Hansi Flick for the season ahead following a loan stint with Elche in 2025/26, the 20-year-old was linked with a whole host of clubs from across the continent.

Earlier this week, though, it was an outfit from Fort’s home country of Spain who beat out the competition to his signature.

Following a quickfire round of negotiations with Deco and the Barcelona transfer team, Real Sociedad thrashed out an agreement on the terms of a permanent deal for the versatile full-back.

And as alluded to above, on Saturday, Fort himself all but made official his arrival in San Sebastian for the seasons ahead.

After Real Sociedad welcomed Espanyol to Anoeta for a La Liga clash, the youngster made his way to the stadium which he will soon call home, to show his support for his new teammates:
