In an interview with Marca, Sporting CP winger Pablo Sarabia has articulated why he chose to join the Portuguese club last summer.
Sarabia, who garnered interest from Atlético Madrid as well, emphasized the importance of feeling valued as key to his decision.
“We were looking for a club where I would feel valued from the very beginning, and also have the opportunity to play in the Champions League. Sporting brought all of that together. Some were a bit shocked, but from the first moment, my family, my agent and I were confident that it was the best option. Eight months later, it has proven to be so.”
Sarabia has enjoyed a phenomenal season for Sporting, having netted 22 goals in all competitions, while assisting a further nine. His impeccable form has once again put him on Atlético’s radar. Sarabia, however, is yet to decide his future.
“We will sit down and see what is the best option for PSG and myself. After the season is over, if I’m lucky enough to be in the National Team, we will see what’s best for my objective to be on the plane to Qatar,” he continued.
