A now-former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been spotted continuing his training schedule, back at the club’s facilities.
The player in question? Sergi Roberto.
Spanish international Roberto, of course, finds himself on the outside looking in at Barcelona at present.
This comes with the 32-year-old, despite his hopes of as much, yet to be afforded an extension to his now-expired Blaugrana contract.
The understanding is that, as things stand, such a renewal is unlikely to arrive at all, with Roberto not featuring in the plans of new Barca headmaster Hansi Flick.
But the versatile midfielder/full-back, for his part, is nevertheless doing his utmost to prove his fitness to those behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have revealed that, whilst Hansi Flick’s squad are away on their pre-season tour of the USA, Roberto has trained ‘at the club’s facilities, specifically, at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper ‘.
