Ousmane Dembélé has left FC Barcelona and Superdeporte report that the transfer of the French player to Paris Saint-Germain has been closed for a fee of €50.4m, slightly more than the €50m in the player’s clause.
The Catalan club will receive €35m from the sale, while the rest will be paid to the player, according to the agreement reached last summer in his contract renewal.
Although it had been reported that the split was 50-50, negotiations with the player’s agent have concluded with a higher percentage for Barça.
Xavi Hernández’s effort to retain Dembélé was in vain and there is now a gap in the forward line that the Blaugrana head coach would like to fill before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Ligue 1 club have come in for another forward from Barça, six years after they signed Neymar for €222m and a couple of years after announcing the signing of Lionel Messi.
