Osasuna head coach Jagoba Arrasate has provided an update on the wellbeing of star frontman Ante Budimir.
And the news will no doubt give rise to a collective sigh of relief across the Osasuna fanbase.
This comes amid confirmation that the experienced attacker is on the verge of marking his return to first-team action alongside the rest of the Rojillos’ squad.
Budimir, for his part, has spent the last month confined to the sidelines.
As much comes after a collision with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili left the Croatian international with three broken ribs.
Budimir’s status for the remainder of the season, in turn, was thrown firmly up in the air.
If the latest comments on the part of headmaster Arrasate are anything to go by, though, then Budimir looks set to play his part over the final weeks of the La Liga campaign.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s meeting with Mallorca on Tuesday night, Osasuna’s boss had the following to say when drawn on his top scorer’s wellbeing:
“It depends on the context of the game. He can help us. It’s going little by little, it’s a complicated injury. He has good feelings.”
Arrasate continued, as cited by Mundo Deportivo:
“The good thing is that he has done a very good individual job, and there is no doubt about that. Then, it is not the same when you have a rival or opposition in front of you. Today, the sensations were good and there is still a little left, but there is no pain. We put him in [the squad] because of the context that the game may have.”
