Oriol Romeu not training with Girona ahead of move to FC Barcelona

Oriol Romeu could become an FC Barcelona player today (Monday), report Mundo Deportivo.

The player from Ulldecona has not trained with Girona this morning, as Barça look set to pay the clause of €4.5 million to secure the signing.

Barça see Romeu as the perfect replacement for new Inter Miami player, Sergio Busquets (35). Romeu (31) spent seven seasons with Barça before leaving to join Premier League outfit Chelsea.

With experience in both La Liga and Europe, Romeu will join up with Xavi’s side and the club are planning to have him on their US summer tour, where they will come up against Real Madrid.

The player underwent a medical this morning at Barcelona Hospital, supervised by Dr. Ricard Pruna, and Barça are now expected to announce the signing of the former Southampton player.
