‘One more fan in the stands’ – Xavi sends heartfelt farewell to Barcelona fans

Departing Barcelona head coach Xavi has this evening issued a public farewell to all associated with the club.

As much, of course, comes after the Spaniard’s dismissal was made official on Friday afternoon.

Just weeks on from his continuity for the 2024/25 campaign being confirmed by Barcelona, Xavi has been sent packing, in favour of the incoming Hansi Flick.

The news will no doubt come as a heavy blow for the Blaugrana icon, who so recently made clear his excitement for what was to come at the Camp Nou next season.

Despite what many have since labelled as a complete lack of class and respect on the part of his club, though, Xavi himself has been sure to maintain as much in his farewell.

Taking to Instagram a short time ago, the 44-year-old unveiled a lengthy message, thanking the Barcelona faithful, staff and more.

Confirming that he will now become ‘one more fan in the stands’, Xavi concluded by wishing all the best to ‘the club of my heart’:
