Plans for one headline member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona remain unknown ahead of the new campaign.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Jules Koundé as the player in question.
Stopper Koundé is for his part expected to continue to play a pivotal role in Catalunya’s capital over the season ahead.
Despite the change on the bench, the France international – fresh off an impressive Euros campaign – is considered a focal point for the future by all associated with Barcelona.
And yet, with less than a week remaining before the new La Liga term is kicked into gear, Koundé’s place in the Blaugrana’s XI remains unclear.
As per the aforementioned Relevo, ‘Koundé remains an unknown quantity’.
This comes with it yet to be announced whether the former Sevilla standout will be utilised at centre-back, or right-back.
Monday’s Joan Gamper Trophy meeting with AS Monaco could provide a hint when it comes to as much, but a more definitive answer is unlikely to arrive until next weekend, against Valencia.
