A member of the loan army at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week secured for himself a prestigious individual prize. This comes amid confirmation that Ronald Araújo has been named Premier League Player of the Week.
Defender Araújo for his part featured from the off for the latest occasion over the weekend, as Liverpool played host to in-form Brighton & Hove Albion.
When all was said and done, Andoni Iraola’s hosts emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result.
And en route to Liverpool’s eventual clean sheet, the aforementioned Araújo played a starring role… Throwing himself into challenges, blocking goal-bound shots and excelling in all aspects of his defensive game, the Uruguayan enjoyed a superb individual showing.
So much so that, as alluded to above, Araújo has since seen his exploits recognised.
As per a statement across social media on Tuesday, the 27-year-old – in the midst of a season-long loan spell from Barcelona – has been voted Premier League Player of the Week.
