Official: Sevilla secure midfield reinforcements

La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Friday announced a fresh addition to the club’s first-team ranks in the middle of the park. The player to have penned terms with the Andalusians for the seasons ahead? Giorgi Kochorashvili.

Kochorashvili, for his part, is a 27-year-old Georgian international, who chiefly operates in an orthodox role in midfield.

The former Levante talent spent last season plying his trade in Portugal, on the books of Primeira Liga heavyweights Sporting CP. And though his campaign proved to be something of a disappointment all told, Kochorashvili evidently did enough to pique the attentions of those in the boardroom at the aforementioned Sevilla.

On the hunt for engine room reinforcements ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline, the Nervionenses recently opened negotiations with their Sporting counterparts over the terms of a deal for Kochorashvili.

And as alluded to above, late this week, these discussions have officially borne fruit. As per a statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms:

‘Sevilla FC and Sporting Clube de Portugal have reached an agreement for the transfer of Giorgi Kochorashvili to the Seville-based club. He has signed a contract until June 30, 2030.’
