Barcelona have confirmed the departure of Sergiño Dest to AC Milan.
“Barcelona and AC Milan have reached an agreement on the loan of the player Sergiño Dest for the 2022/23 season.
“The deal also includes an option to buy the player once the loan period expires,” the La Liga club announced in a statement.
The option to buy for Milan is for a reported €20m.
Dest played 72 games for the Blaugrana, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
The young right-back lost his way under Xavi Hernández at Camp Nou and wanted a new opportunity to play regularly ahead of the 2022 World Cup with the USMNT.
For the USA, Dest has made 17 appearances and scored three goals, winning the Concacaf Nations League 2019/20.
Barca are now set to complete deals for Spanish full-backs Héctor Bellerín and Marcos Alonso.
