As communicated on their official website, Rony Lopes leaves Sevilla to join Troyes.
According to the agreement, the Portuguese player will join the Ligue 1 side until June 2023, with Troyes having no option to buy him at the end of the season. Lopes has a valid contract with Sevilla until 2024 and the club will re-evaluate his situation next summer.
The offloading of the 26-year-old frees up a space in Julen Lopetegui’s squad. Los Nervionenses hope to reinforce their forwards department before the transfer window closes.
The French first division will not be unfamiliar territory for Lopes, having already played at Lille, Monaco and Nice.
Lopes arrived to Sevilla from Monaco in 2019 for a fee believed to be in the region of €25 million. However, so far he has failed to make an impact at the club, having only made 14 appearances in all competitions in the space of three years.
