Real Madrid are contemplating renewing the contract of Dani Ceballos, report Mundo Deportivo.
Throughout the summer, the Spanish midfielder has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid. However, earlier this August, Carlo Ancelotti came out to say that he is counting upon the services of Ceballos this season.
The 26-year-old has already made an appearance in each of Los Blancos’ three official games this season. With the departure of Casemiro to Manchester United, he is expected to play a more prominent role in Real Madrid’s midfield.
Ceballos’ contract is expiring in June 2023 and the club are considering extending his deal beyond next summer.
The Andalucían would have only considered leaving Real Madrid for Real Betis. However, Los Verdiblancos can’t afford him so he opted to stay with the Spanish champions.
Whether he will be offered a contract extension or not will most likely depend on his performance this season.
