Real Madrid have this evening announced the signing of young Brazilian playmaker Reinier from Flamengo for €30m.
The 18-year-old has signed for Los Blancos until June 2026. He is expected to join Real Madrid’s B-team, Castilla, for the rest of 2019/20 and is currently on duty with Brazil under-23s, preparing for the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic tournament later this month.
Madrid beat competition from Manchester City and Barcelona for the attacking midfielder, who has been compared to former Real Madrid star Kaká.
Vinicius Junior also joined Madrid from Flamengo in 2018. Brazilian scout Juni Calafat helped identify the player from the Brazilian club, where an existing relationship ensured a deal was agreed.
