A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week put pen to paper on terms in Major League Soccer.
This comes amid confirmation that Casemiro has linked up with the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez at Inter Miami.
Engine room veteran Casemiro is of course in the midst of a disappointing summer all told. Playing a leading role for his native Brazil, the 34-year-old saw his country sent packing from the World Cup in the Round-of-16.
Focus since turned back towards matters at club level, with Casemiro’s future having still to be sorted.
After opting against renewing his contract terms with Premier League heavyweights Manchester United, the 91-time capped international hit the market as a free agent.
Speculation had long pointed towards a clear frontrunner emerging in the race for his services, in the form of the aforementioned Inter Miami.
And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, a joining of forces between the two parties has been confirmed. As per a statement across Inter’s website and social media platforms:
‘Inter Miami CF announced today that it has signed Brazilian international midfielder Casemiro. The five-time UEFA Champions League-winning midfielder joins the Club as a free agent and will remain under contract through the conclusion of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an extension option until June 2029.’
