La Liga outfit Girona have on Friday made official the latest addition to the club’s midfield ranks.
It has of course proven a busy summer to date for those behind the scenes at the Estadi Montilivi.
Ahead of the club’s first-ever dive into European competition, and forced to contend with a whole host of high-profile departures, Girona have set about adding some much-needed depth to the ranks under the watch of head coach Míchel.
Prior to today, no fewer than eight new players had made their way through the door in Catalanya, including the likes of Oriol Romeu, Donny van de Beek, and Bryan Gil.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday, such reinforcements have been added to once more.
The fresh blood on this occasion comes between the posts, amid confirmation that Girona have landed Pau López, from Olympique Marseille.
As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:
‘Pau López has become Girona FC’s new player today. The Club and Olympique de Marseille have reached an agreement for the loan of the Girona goalkeeper until the end of the season.’
