A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week committed his long-term future to the club. This comes amid confirmation that Raphinha has signed a new contract in Catalunya’s capital.
Frontman Raphinha is for his part of course in the midst of nothing short of a spectacular individual campaign to date.
Having taken on the responsibility of the captain’s armband, as well as a new role as Barcelona’s first-choice centre-forward, the Brazilian has responded with a string of standout performances.
All told, across 13 appearances between La Liga and the Champions League, the former Leeds United man has directly contributed to a staggering 22 goals.
A vital cog in Hansi Flick’s attacking machine, it therefore came as little surprise when word was recently forthcoming that Barcelona were working on tying Raphinha down to fresh terms.
And as alluded to above, on Thursday, these efforts have officially borne fruit. As per a statement across Barca’s social media platforms:
‘A true statement of intent. Our beloved captain will continue to lead the project until 2030.’
