The place afforded to Barcelona star Pau Cubarsí in the final voting for this year’s Ballon d’Or has on Monday evening been revealed.
This comes amid confirmation that the young defender has done enough to secure a more than respectable 12th-place finish in the ‘Golden Ball’ standings.
Stopper Cubarsí is for his part fresh off a thoroughly productive year at club and international level alike.
After notching his latest La Liga title on the books of Barcelona, the Spaniard, still just 19, played a starring role for his country en route to clinching glory at the summer’s World Cup.
Cubarsí has developed into one of world football’s standout defensive talents, long hailed for his abilities in and out of possession alike.
And as alluded to above, such gifts have on Monday seen the teen finish ahead of the likes of Vinícius Jr, Declan Rice and Vitinha, in 12th spot at the Ballon d’Or gala in London.
