Nico Jackson’s current situation at Villarreal

Nico Jackson is flying in the yellow of Villarreal. The Senegalese striker extended his fine scoring run with a brace against Cádiz on Wednesday

He has now scored eight goals in his last six games and has been in sensational form of late. Relevo report that Villarreal want to keep Jackson at the club in a deal that would improve his salary, as well as increase his release clause, which currently stands at €30m.

Villarreal were prepared to let him leave for England in the winter when they saw that it had not been possible to improve his contract and to protect him financially. His move to Bournemouth fell through and the Castellón club are now again considering the possibility of improving his contract, although that is not the player’s priority.

Premier League interest

He is happy at Villarreal, but his main priority is to know what they can offer him going forward, mainly because the player knows that Bournemouth, the club that had the intention of signing him in winter, are still willing to make a move happen this summer.

The option of going to the south of England interests Jackson who is also aware of the interest from other clubs like West Ham and Everton.

When Villarreal offer him a new deal, he will study it, although the La Liga outfit will struggle to pay what Premier League sides can offer.
