Mika Faye’s Barcelona exit ‘inevitable’

A head-turning update on the future of Barcelona sensation Mikayil Faye has come to the fore on Thursday.

This comes amid surprise claims that his departure from Catalunya’s capital can be considered all but certain.

Faye has of course seen his name in lights over the course of recent weeks, his stellar exploits with Barca Atlètic having culminated in call-ups to both Xavi’s first-team squad, and the Senegalese senior setup.

Amid something of a logjam in the heart of defence in Catalunya’s capital owing to the emergence of Pau Cubarsí, though, it has been suggested that the Blaugrana brass could move to cash in on Faye in the summer, amid mounting interest in his services from across the continent.

Such chatter has not gone down at all well amongst the Barcelona fanbase, of the opinion that their young stopper represents a potential star in the making.

But, if the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, a sale is not only a possibility, but a probability.

Mundo Deportivo, as part of a deep dive on the situation at the heart of Barca’s backline, label Faye’s an ‘inevitable transfer’.

The 19-year-old himself is understood to have made clear that, if the guarantee of first-team football in Catalunya is not forthcoming, he is ready to seek out an exit this summer.

As much comes with the likes of Girona, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, and Manchester United all keeping a close eye on developments.

Deco and the transfer team at the Camp Nou, desperate for fresh funds for incomings of their own, are therefore ‘rubbing their hands’ at the prospect of a big-money Faye sale.
